who we are

Our temenos

Bringing industry insight & circularity in practice

Our Temenos is a vision-driven team with a background in ecological landscaping. As design/build contractors, circular design has been a foundation of our practice since 2018. We are leading the initiative to scale this solution across the construction industry as our reimagining of infrastructure for the next century.

By fusing industry experience with bold creativity, we disrupt conventional limits and deliver infrastructure that serves contractors, architects, engineers, agencies and our clients across NYC.

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is a mission-driven, nonprofit organization that works for a vibrant, inclusive, and globally competitive economy for all New Yorkers.

As part of this work, NYCEDC is advancing a more circular built environment by supporting workforce development, piloting innovative design and construction strategies through public projects, and investing in the infrastructure and industry partnerships needed to scale material reuse, deconstruction, and circular construction supply chains across New York City.

The HUB is located at 4100 1st Avenue in Brooklyn. Operated by NYCEDC, MADE is a 20-acre campus for Manufacturers, Artisans, Designers, and Entrepreneurs with dynamic workspaces on Brooklyn’s Sunset Park waterfront.

one pilot. citywide impact.

The Circular Construction Hub at MADE Bush Terminal is working with industry partners to understand what it takes to make material reuse work at scale.

By participating in the Circular Construction Hub, organizations can:

  • Reduce material disposal and procurement costs

  • Access new sources of reclaimed and surplus materials

  • Advance sustainability and decarbonization goals

  • Support compliance with emerging circular construction policies and requirements

  • Build new partnerships across the construction industry

  • Demonstrate leadership in New York's growing green economy

Whether you are managing a demolition project, sourcing materials for a new development, or developing policies that support sustainable construction, the Hub provides practical tools and expertise to help move projects from ambition to implementation.

Generating data to scale circular construction

The Circular Construction Hub at MADE Bush Terminal is more than a service provider. It is a pilot designed through the lens of local contractors, Our Temenos, to understand what infrastructure, operational models, and market conditions are needed to support circular construction at scale.

Throughout the pilot, Our Temenos and NYCEDC will track key metrics including material volumes recovered, diversion from disposal, storage and utilization rates, material transactions, project participation, economic activity, workforce impacts, and operational performance. These insights will help identify the opportunities and barriers associated with scaling the Circular Construction Hub at MADE Bush Terminal and implementation of a citywide material reuse ecosystem.
